With each day, the anticipation of Full Figured Fashion Week grows greater in the curvy community and beyond. For the event that is considered the Oscars of the plus size industry each announcement is very important. Not only does the announcements heighten the anticipation, they are also an indicator that we are indeed a little closer to the moment when we will take over “The Big Apple.”

Much like the Oscars, the announcements get nearly just as much buzz as the actual event. While all of the announcements are big, the announcement of the models is equivalent to the nominations; with that being said… The nominations are in! Yes, late yesterday, FFFWeek® Casting Director Sharon Quinn released the names and photos of its 2016 runway models. Like every year, there is a class of beautiful women who collectively display the diversity that exist in the plus size community.  Each year Gwen and Sharon travel the states and Canada in search of models that will not only represent the FFFWeek® brand but exhibit the designers clothing in the best way.  Women travel and sacrifice to be in attendance at one of the casting locations during the tour because they know that this is one of the greatest opportunities for plus size models. Once the casting tour is over Sharon is given the hard job of narrowing the ladies down to present to Gwen the finalists and from there 50 are chosen; I honestly don’t know how they do it but they do.Moments from the Tampa casting for FFFWeek

Attending the casting is a brave step, making it to the infamous wall is an honor and participating in the show is a privilege. Each year the models represent the best of the best and this year is no different.  In staying true to the statement that this year would be bigger and better than ever, they have a diverse group of beautiful curvy models that include both FFFWeek® alumni and newbies.   Below, you will find the 2016 Full Figured Fashion Week Runway Models!

Great group huh? I think so but I want to hear from you. Chime in ladies, share with us what you think of this year’s models for FFFWeek® 2016.

We officially have 47 days until FFFWeek® are you excited yet? I sure am!
