Full Figured Fashion Week™ is pleased to announce our 2010 partnerships with the following charitable organizations:

The Body Image Council

The Body Image Council is here for one simple reason – to help you feel good about who you are, inside and out. That means loving yourself, taking care of yourself, and being the best that you can be.

Happiness may seem like the most basic of human rights, but feeling good about who you are today means fighting a unrelenting wave of pressure to fit in to some unrealistic ideal of perfection. Pressures that affect the physical and psychological well being of men, women and children of every persuasion every minute, of every day of our lives.

We are here to help you fight those pressures. We are here to help you hold on to that positive and healthy self image you were born with, regardless of age, gender, size, shape, color, education or economics.

Life is hard enough. Let us help.

Dress for Success Hudson County

The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Founded in New York City in 1997, Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization offering services designed to help our clients find jobs and remain employed. Each Dress for Success client receives one suit when she has a job interview and can return for a second suit or separates when she finds work.

Dress for Success Hudson County (DFS Hudson County) is proud to be the fourth largest affiliate in this worldwide organizational family. DFS Hudson County is fully committed to improving the quality of life for an underserved population of women throughout Hudson County New Jersey and surrounding areas. We do this through our free program and service offerings that focus on image enhancement; pre-employment and workplace readiness; and post-employment development and support. The cornerstone of our offerings is the "Suits to Self-Sufficiency" suiting program through which we provide our clients with business clothing, shoes and accessories, along with personal care and beauty products available in our onsite 'boutique'. Once employed, women are invited to join our Professional Women's Group (PWG) who meet monthly for networking and career support. Attendees have the opportunity for expanded networking with other DFS affiliate PWG members and to become involved with community projects. Our Career Center offers clients and PWG members the opportunity for computer access and literary research to support job search and career enhancement efforts. A Career Counselor is available onsite to provide individualized assistance.

True Curves

In 2007, full figured models Meilee and Sommer Green teamed up and together they created True Curves™, a campaign that empowers women to embrace the strength and beauty found in their curves. Through beauty, fashion, and art, True Curves educates and supports all women with curves. There are no size limitations and health is key to these ladies.

In 2008 True Curves produced their debut project "True Curves 2009 Calendar Pin Up Edition". The beauty of the calendar is that it showcases the curves of full figured models, actors and everyday women. The calendar challenges the stereotypes by representing women in an array of sizes.

In 2009 Sommer and Meilee embarked on their next adventure, True Curves presents True Sheroes and True Curves presents True Princesses. True Curves has always been advocates for philanthropic organizations and through True Princesses True Curves can give back to the young girls in our communities by allowing them to become their own role models. True Princesses will have their own calendar and comic series. True Sheroes will inspire women of all sizes and show that beauty is truly inside out.

2010 brings a new calendar and comic book series starring women of all races and sizes from around the nation. A sci-fi fantasy, mixed with high fashion flare, True Sheroes will inspire every woman to find the hero inside them.
