TIA LYN is an American fashion designer best known by her vintage inspired lingerie made modern with her own twist designed to fit the full busted woman.
Born in Madison, Wisconsin in 1970, Tia began her fashion career at The University of Wisconsin-Madison where she earned two Bachelor Degrees in Textile Science and Fashion Design. After graduating, she studied in New York at the Fashion Institute of Technology and earned an Associate’s Degree in Intimate Apparel.
Tia was taught to sew at an early age by both of her grandmothers. They always encouraged her to follow her dreams and did not hesitate to feed Tia’s new found love for fashion.
Since 1996, she has been creatively designing with a focus on full busted and curvy women. She specialized in private label designs for national retailers including Victoria Secret, Lane Bryant, Ashley Stewart, Disney Stores and Vanity Fair.
The Tia Lyn brand launched in 2001. From the beginning, every style has consistently been offered in a curvy size range from S-3X. Tia Lyn is one of the leading designers in the lingerie market and her plus sized designs were recently featured in Glamour Magazine, The Daily Venus Diva and E News! “It is thrilling to see woman of every size and shape embraced by national media. Curves are to be celebrated and all women should feel beautiful in their lingerie.” Tia says about her vision for her collections.
Two time winner of the International CILA Award for the “Best Plus Size Collection” Tia continues to expand and further develop her brand. She displayed her gorgeous designs on the stunning plus sized models at Full Figured Fashion Week. Tia explains how the experience was a highlight of the year, “The energy was exhilarating. Everyone was on their feet cheering for the gorgeous full figured models as they dominated the catwalk. Confidence is so sexy”.

In a recent interview, Tia explains that one of her most exciting moments in business was joining Golyta International to expand the Tia Lyn brand on a global level in 2011. In her own words, Tia says “It is an absolute honor to work with one of my best friends, Levan Tat. Over coffee at the kitchen counter in our pajamas, we make decisions about designs and materials the way most people make decisions about their everyday life. Levan and I chat on the phone, as girlfriends do, putting together the type of collections we love to wear! We have become so close over the years that we have developed a knack for unknowingly wearing the same look to trade shows and other events! Along with Levan, I work with an amazing team at Golyta. It has been wonderful to finally have a whole team working together as a unit, allowing me to focus all of my energy into designing new lingerie collections.”
