New York City shopping guide for the FFFWeek 2015 attendees

One the most exciting things about New York is going shopping. There is so much variety in New York that you can literally find anything. We prepared a shopping guide for all of the guests that are coming to New York this year for Full Figured Fashion Week 2015.

Macy’s Herald Square: Macy’s is like a staple of the city, you cannot come to NYC and not visit the store. Macy’s Herald Square is not your typical Macy’s store. The store has 11 floors, it takes an entire city block and it has one of the biggest shoe departments in the world (a must see). It also has a restaurant and high end brands that are not usually in your local Macy’s store such as Louis Vuitton, Coach and Burberry among others. The store is like a mall inside of Macy’s...Amazing!!

NYC Street Vendors: Some of us that are coming from states like, Florida and Texas, among others, are not used to seeing street vendors. It is completely legal in New York and is very common. You can buy jewelry, sunglasses, hats, scarves, cell phone covers, chargers and many, many different things at very affordable prices.

Souvenir shops: What’s a trip to New York without buying souvenirs? This one is also a must and they are everywhere. You have to buy some "I Love NY" merchandise, it’s a classic!! Times Square is a good place to get these.

Greenwich Village: Better known as “The Village”, this part of NY is very eclectic. If you are looking for Art, crafts, bookstores, record stores and gourmet markets this is the place to be.

5th Avenue Shopping: This part of New York has the higher end stores. Shopping is more exclusive and pretty fancy.

We also suggest that you take a walk while in the city, explore and take a taxi to Soho or the garment district. Go into the small stores and boutiques that you see along the way, you will be amazed at some of the one of a kind things you can buy in them. New York is the fashion capital of the world, there are amazing fabric stores (MOOD), jewelry shops and lots of wholesale places. Be aware of knockoffs but be adventurous and visit stores that you don’t have in your state for amazing finds.
